What Have You Done?

You should never have to take a big ask on faith. Here is the track record.

100+
Short Documentaries
More than one hundred short films about the people, places, and ideas that make my city worth caring about.
200+ Million
Views, One Story
A single short film has reached more than 200 million people.
Dick's
National Campaign
My Buddy Baseball footage was featured in Dick's Sporting Goods' largest brand campaign ever, about how sports change lives.
400+
Paintings Sold
Hundreds of my paintings hang in homes, many bought by people buying art for the first time.
A Foundation
Born From a Story
My film about Phyllis helped inspire the creation of the LIAM Foundation, now the region's first and only LGBTQIA+ resource center.
$60,000
From One Story
My documentary for the Family Justice Center helped generate more than $60,000 in support.
“Vigilante”
Nationally Recognized
Fast Company called me a Branding Vigilante. Illinois's statewide arts conference invited me to speak.
Rockford > NYC
Chose Rockford
I turned down a significant opportunity in New York because I believed the stories here mattered.
Trusted
By Institutions
Museums, cities, nonprofits, and community organizations have trusted me to tell their most consequential stories.

It goes directly toward the seed funding that builds the trailer, the story development, and the materials that attract the right producer. Your name goes on the film.

The Proposal

Invest $5,000 in the film and I'll give you 1% of any distribution or acquisition deal I receive for the film, after agent fees and commissions.

My ultimate goal is to sell the film to a Subscription Video on Demand service such as Netflix or Amazon.

If the film generated $500,000 after fees and commissions, your 1% would return your full $5,000 investment. Anything above that would be profit.

For context, Knock Down the House was reportedly acquired by Netflix for $10 million and Time by Amazon for $5 million, with other documentary acquisitions landing in the high six and low seven figures.

I'm not suggesting this film will achieve those numbers. There is real risk and no guarantee of a sale.

But look back at the track record above. I've succeeded far beyond what anyone could reasonably have expected from a small, independently produced series out of Rockford.

I believe I can do it again, this time with a feature film.

And if you want to take a larger stake, I'll offer you 2% for a total investment of $10,000.
